Execution Strategy

I believe it's important to have a simple and transparent execution strategy to align the team. The rest of the Operating Playbook covers the "how" but this is meant to be the "why" behind everything we do. Every decision we make is reflective of the strategy outlined below. This execution strategy will continue to evolve and updates will be reflected below.

What is Hatch Apps?

Hatch Apps is a no-code platform for teams to build mobile apps, APIs, databases, and more. We help companies save time and money on software development by putting them in full control.

What is our mission?

We're on a mission to make software development accessible to all. We believe everyone should be able to build quality software, regardless of their technical ability.

How do we make money?

  • Customers that use the self-service version pay $2,499 per year for an all-inclusive subscription of our platform.

  • Companies can purchase an Enterprise SLA for $36,000 per year.

  • We make 30% of all transactions within the platform: marketplace services provided by third party companies, App Builder templates, and API Builder templates.

How do we acquire customers?

  1. Inbound: Leads use our self-service platform to create an account and start a 14 day free trial. From there, we use marketing automation and sales outreach to convert the customer within 14 days.

  2. Outbound: We contact Enterprises, Governments, Accelerators, Incubators, and more that purchase multiple licenses at once.

What is the growth strategy?

We believe in Product Led Growth (PLG). Everything must be productized and built for scale. This enables us to reduce our CAC and cost to serve customers.

We’re thoughtfully building our platform to enable a bottoms-up sales motion by enabling customers to self-service sign up, start a 14 day free trial, and then convert to a paid plan. Once onboarded, we make it easy for customers to add and collaborate with team members with multiplayer collaboration. From there, our platform gives teams multiple no-code products to build software across the entire stack. These products can be used with or without each other.

We're building virality into the platform with easy sharing features.

We've made Hatch Apps free for students and educators.

How do we win?

  1. Technology: We are the only no-code platform on the market that enables customers to deploy a mobile app on their own App Store account with a click of a button. Additionally, customers can deploy an API and database on their own servers or with us. Our proprietary cloud engine automates what a developer would do for a company manually, and puts them in full control.

  2. Compounding Value: Hatch Apps is a "platform" with multiple products within it. Each product democratizes one part of the software development stack. These products can be used with or without each other. As we continue to add more components to each product and more products, the value for customers compounds exponentially.

  3. Ecosystem: We are building the strongest ecosystem in the market. This includes partnering with companies to build 'branded components', certifying developers on Hatch Apps, a marketplace of service providers, and more. We are positioning ourselves as the center of the ecosystem as we want to be the go-to place for custom software.

What are Ecosystem Partners?

We see ecosystem partners as a force-multiplier for distribution.

  1. Service Providers:

  2. Branded Components:

  3. Templates:

  4. Deals:

  5. Incubators, Accelerators, VC Funds:

  6. Distributors:

  7. Sponsors:

What are the main existential threats?
